I went to the Utah Parks National Council Aerospace O Rama, this weekend. Aside from a flat tire (apparenty a Prius isn’t the best off road vehicle), and the most amazing dust on the planet, it was spectacular.
I ran around like a kid, pausing for a massive helicopter flown by the Air National Guard, the several rockets, and a world class illusionist. The next morning we were honored with a high flying hot air balloon and a beautiful sunrise. Excitement grew as aerospace hobbyist and professionals dazzled us with a glimpse of their skills. Rockets launched, R/C planes flew impossible stunts, R/C helicopters were maneuvered with breath-taking precision, R/C gliders were expertly flown and even performed a barrel-roll, a rock climbing wall was conquered, and my heart was adrenalized while watching the Special Force members demonstrated different skydives.
I found it to be such fun I wondered, is it really for the Boy Scouts?
